Skaters and Championships
In 1897 Princes Hockey Club was founded and was soon famous for its excellent hockey team, which won the only Championship of Europe ever held in that sport. In 1903 Belgium brought together a conference of its skaters, and in 1905 the Cercle des Patineurs de Bruxelles was formed. In 1904 the Paris Skating Club started and joined with the Champs Elysees Skating Club, which, with the Cercles des Patineurs of Paris and of the Riviera and the Club des Patineurs, are the principal skating clubs of France at the present day.
